• “Y.. Jan. 10. 1828, and is the son of Horatio N. and Minerva Hardy Morgan, bothof wlicin were natives of New York State and of English descent. The subject of this sketch was educated at the Cortland Aeademy, taught scliool in his native conniy several terms; in 1849, he was Superintendent of Schools for the town' of Scott, a posiiion which he held for two yeais, also teaching during the -ninlcr months; in tlic month ef Apiil, 1852, ho was married to Jiiss Sarah M., daughter of Ecv.”
