• “Y., where he completed his studies in the office of Horatio Seymour, Esq.; he then returned to Westfield, N. Y., and was admitted to the bar and immediately commenced the practice of law as an attorney ; the same year he moved to Rockton, 111., where he remained till 1844, and then came to Beloit City, where he at once began the practice of law, and, at the same time, was actively engaged in advancing the settlement of the town, acting as agent for the sale of lands and constructing buildings. He was married in 1839, to Miss Cornelia A.”
