The Free-Will Baptists erected their church at Evansville

The evidence

• “Free- Will Baptist Ohurch. — On July 1, 1854, the members of the churches of this denomination resident at Magnolia and Union coalesced and formed a corporate body, with headquarters at Evansville, where they met and elected the following Trustees, viz. : Peter AUer, Jesse Aller and Argalus Ballard. In the same year, they erected their present church, a large frame building, with a seating capacity of 300, at a cost of $3,000.”
