• “In 1863, he bought a farm of 100 acres, a short distance from Shopiere, where he now has a fine home, and a farm under the best of cultivation. Married, on Nov. 1, 1843, Olivia P. Pike, daughter of Jonathan Pike ; on the mother's side, her grandfather was a brave soldier in the Revolution, and in the war of 1812 ; and, on her father's side, her grandfather enlisted in army of the Revolution when 16 years old.”
