• “Y., in 1816; came to Beloit in 1858, and bought 300 acres of laud, with a small residence, of which one-half was improved ; he improved 75 acres more, and the balance is timber and pasture land, in Sees. 14 and 15 ; he afterward built a handsome residence, which he now occupies. He married, in New York City, in February, 1855, Mary E. Lawrence, widow of William Lawrence.”
