The evidence

• “He served there until 1851, and then being called to Wisconsin, organized congregations at Racine, Milwaukee and Muskego, which he served two years. In 1853 he responded to a call to Fox River and remained there till 1856, when he accepted a call to the Evangelical Lutheran church at Clinton, Wis., where he labored nearly thirty years. It was while there that he bought the homestead, consisting of 1591/^ acres, where our subject was born and on which he now lives.”
