• “MARQUIS R. JONES, proprietor of Jones House, Fairfield ; he was born in Pawlet, Rutland Co., Vt., Feb. 17, 1823, and came to the Territory of Wisconsin the last day of August, 1847. Married at Emerald Grove, Rock Co., to Catharine Van Slyke, May 11, 1851 ; the ceremony was pirformed by Justice Baker.”
