• “Wells, who ranks among the substantial and influential citizens of Milton, is a native of Rock county, and was born March 24, 1857. His parents, Caleb and Martha (Williams) "Wells, removed from New York, their native state, to Milton township, Rock county, Wisconsin, in 1850, and settled on a farm, where thej' passed thier lives enjoying the well merited esteem of all who knew them. The father, who was a man of commanding influence in the community, died in 1901 at the age of seventy-five.”
