• “W. Fisk was appointed Professor of Rhetoric and English Literature in July, 1853, and assumed his chair in April, 1854 ; the Rev. William Porter was appointed Associate Professor of Mathematics in July, 1854, entered upon his duties in September, 1854, and was subsequently transferred to the chair of Latin ; Professor Lathrop resigned in July, 1854, to assume a similar position in the Wisconsin University.”
