• “Culver, who was born in Yates Co., N. Y., in 1812 ; was of old English stock, and came to Wisconsin in 1838; settled on 160 acres in Turtle; he died Nov. 10, 1875. George H. attended school till 15 years old; then attended Milton College, and, afterward, to Beloit College; was there two years; then went to Missouri and taught school for awhile ; on his return home and while getting off the cars at the station at Shopiere, he fell a distance of fifty feet and was badly injured ;”
