The evidence

• “S. C. was educated in a district school, kept in a log hut ; his father died on Sept. 28, 1846 ; his mother in September, 1874 ; they were buried on the farm — ^a place selected by the father. The children have erected a monument, eleven feet high, in memory and to mark the resting place of their parents.”
