• “Evansville; born in New York Aug. 27, 1827 ; he carae to Wisconsin in 1847, locating in Porter Township, Rock Co., and engaged in farming.. In 1850, he went to California, remaining until 1853, then returned to Porter Township, and resumed farming. He married, in Porter, Rock Co., February, 1850, Miss Susan Webb, a native of New York, who died in 1863, leaving five children.”
