Levi Alden became sole publisher and editor of the Janesville Gazette.

“G. Grattan appeared thereafter as joint proprietor, till the 14th of September, 1848, when Mr. Alden became solo publisher as well as proprietor. On the 7th of December, 1848, Mr. Chas.”
