• “H. CAIjDWKIiLi, florist; came to Janesville in the fall of 1842, with his father-in-law; in 1844, he purchased 80 acres on Sec. 3 north, of Range 12 ; was born in 1819, April 12, in the village of Roseland, near Edinburg, Scotland. Married Miss Helen Hislop, daughter of Robert and Janette Hislop, of Scotland; they have three children — Caroline C, Janette E. and Helen A.”
