The evidence

• “V. I., in September, 1862 ; he was one of the soldiers who crossed the pontoon bridge over the Ohio River at Cincinnati ; by exposure in service he was taken sick and laid up in the Lexington (Ky.) Hospital for eight weeks ; in December, 1862, on account of illness, was discharged and returned to Harmony ; was confined to the house- for six weeks ; recovered health, and re-engaged at farming. Republican.”
