Holbrook, of Milwaukee, and Clark & Stuart, of Janesville, were the successful bidders. The contract being let in September, 1894, the building was completed for occupancy by the beginning of the fall term of 1895. This building cost over $56,000 ; it is built of Menominee red pressed brick with trimmings of red Portage sandstone, and is 174 feet in length by 84 feet in width, with three stories and a basement.
