• “Greenman served as Superintendent of Schools and Justice of the Peace in the township where he resided. In 1846, the financial management of Alfred Academy (now Alfred University) was placed in his hands and was successfully managed until his resignation four years afterward ; during his administration of the afiairs of the institution, through his personal influence, a loan of $10,000 was obtained from the State of New York, which amount was subsequently donated to the institution. Mr.”
