He received his education in the public schools of his native town and followed the trade of a carriage painter until 1900, when he came to Janesville, Wis., and became owner and proprietor of the Janesville Floral Company, located at 214 South Main street. He has rebuilt and added to his original buildings until now (1907) he has 12,000 feet of glass-covered greenhouses.
