• “County Court Dr. Horace "White was the first judge of probate in Rock county, his election occurring in 1839, and court being held pursuant to notice over his signature dated November 1, 1839, at Beloit, on the 1st day of December, and at Janesville on the first Monday of June. The first will filed for record and probate was that of Charles Johnston, of Rock county.”
