The evidence

• “rendered by the conipany to the bond-holders in 1859, who completed it to Freeport during that year, and afterward built to the Mississippi river at Savannah, and thence to Rock Island. The bond-holders purchased and sold the road in 1866, and a new organization was had as the " Western Union Railroad Company," and it has sinee been operated under that name.”
