• “Janesville ; born in Otsego Co., N. Y., Aug. 13, 1838 ; he is the son of Cornelius and Celinda Miller; his father was born in Herkimer Co., N. Y., Feb. 2, 1801 ; at an early age he learned the carpenter's trade ; afterward learned the flour-milling business ; he put in his time till 27 years of age, when he took up thirty-seven acres of land in Hemlock”
