A Janesville man was re-elected Justice of the Peace in the spring of 1853.

The evidence

• “In March, 1846, was elected Justice of the Peace, which office he held about three years ; at the expiration of that time, he formed a law partnership with Hon. David Noggle ; in the spring of 1853, he was re-elected Justice of the Peace. In August of that year, was elected County Judge, and, from January, 1854, to January, 1858, he served in that capacity ; from that time, till 1860, he was associated with Messrs.”
