The evidence

• “Shopiere ;■ born in Montgomery Co., N. Y., Feb. 16, 1828 ; son of Adam H. Loucks, Sr., whose father, Henry Loucks, was a soldier in the Revolutionary war; he enlisted when he was 16 years old and served through most of the war. Adam H. Loucks, Sr., died in 1828, aged 35 years. Adam H., Jr., went to California in 1851 ; was in the mines; was successful and returned in 1853 to Montgomery Co., N.”
