Trinity Church in Janesville was finished and dedicated.
The evidence
“Hyatt Smith, and the work of constructing Trinity Church begun. The edifice was consecrated in June, 1848, and still stands an ornament to the West Side, and a monument to pioneer Christian enterprise. From -January, 1846, until the date of consecration, services were held in a stone building known as the Janesville Academy, on Lot 135, in Smith, Bailey & Stone's Addition.”
