SHERMAN, dealer in jewelry and notions, State street ; was born in Eric, Erie Co., Penn., Jan, 4, 1856, and came to Wisconsin in 1856 and located in Beloit ; on the death of his father, he entered into the jewelry business on his own account ; the business was originally started by his father, in 1853, on a small capital, and has gradually increased until it is considered to be the first in its line in Beloit.”
