Weirick has always been interested in public matters and has been active in the local affairs of the Republican party for many years. He served as clerk of the town of Turtle ten years, for six years was chairman of the town board of supervisors, and in 1902 was elected register of deeds for Rock county, and closing out his mercantile business in Shopiere, took up his residence in Janesville, his present home.
