This water is procured from what is known as the Pope or Burr springs about two miles north of Janesville. This water has long been known as of exceptional quality, but was not brought into prominence until the time of the World's Fair in Chicago in 1893, when its proprietor, Mr. Burr, entered the water in competition with other table and medical M^aters of the country, in which competition it took first prize.
