Clinton ; born in Scotland Oct. 19, 1830 ; son of Alexander Thom, and, on the mother's side, was a descendant of the Stewarts ; at the age of IC, he learned the carpenter's trade ; the family moved to America and to Huron Co.t Ohio, in 1836 ; Alexander, Jr., in 1854, came to Clinton and ran a threshing machine; went to Rockford and worked at his trade, then moved to Turtle and settled on eiglity acres ; owns a farm of two hundred and' forty acres, under good cultivation.”
