• “Their hearts being set upon a farm home, however, they found their ideal place in Avon township, Rock county, Wisconsin, and very soon located there and established a home for themselves and family. They first came to Avon in 1856, where they lived the remainder of their lives ; Father Sammon died in 1878, Mother Sammon surviving him until 1895, when she, too, passed away, leaving her children to mourn her loss.”
