• “capacity until 1860. In 1855 he became attorney for the Chicago, St. Paul & Fond du Lac Railroad Company, now the Chicago & North-Western, serving as such until 1866, when he resigned to return to Sharon Springs on account of business matters requiring his personal attention.”
