• “Evansville; born Sept. 8, 1836, in Durham, Greene Co., N. Y. ; came to Wisconsin Nov. 7, 1853, and worked for his father until 1860, when he bought his farm of eighty-three and one-half acres. In the fall of 1864, he enlisted in the 44th W.”
