The cholera (superinduced by misery and starvation) occurred among the Winnebago people.

• “HEAI/ni OF WI.SCOXSIN. of the cholera, in 1847 (which latter was superinduced by misery and starvation), and by the fever, which from time to time, commonly in the winter, has been raging among them, being clearly the consequence of want of provisions and other necessaries. The report for 1850 says, there has been considerable sickness among the Winnebagoes for several months past ; dysentery has been the prevalent disease, confined mostly to children.”
