• “Akin was born in Cayuga Co., N. Y., in November, 1831 ; with his parents, came to Wisconsin in 1843 ; they lived for a time in Richmond, Walworth Co. In 1844, came to Rock Co. ; bought a farm of 120 acres of unimproved land in Harmony Township.”
