• “R. HANAFORD ; was born Feb. 23, 1820, in Enfield, Grafton Co., N. H. ; from Enfield he moved to Underbill, Vt., where he learned his trade, and shortly after worked on his own account ; from Underbill he moved to Seloit, and for five years worked for Parker & Stone, reaper manufacturers, and then, after working some time on his own account, went to the Merrill & Houston Iron Works as a worker in wood.”
