The new building, which cost $13,000, was dedicated June 9, 1908, and the extra $3,000 of cost was paid by his heirs. The building itself is an architectural gem, and the interior main library room contains a bronze statue of Mr. Eager, a little larger than life size, and a plaster bust of Professor Searing, a graduate of Milton college, who in an early day had a select school in the village of Union, and later became state superintendent of schools. The library has already (1908) about four thousand volumes.
