• “STEPHEN D. SEBL (deceased); born in New York State in 1812; came to Wisconsin in 1844, locating in Bradford, where he purchased 340 acres and resided until his death, April 12, 1877 ; he was one of the oldest settlers in the county, having built the first house in Bradford, there being but two houses between Fairfield and Janesville ; he was considered a mobt successful farmer, a good, husband and an indulgent parent ; his loss has been sadly felt by his widow and children ; but his name shall ever remain green in the memory of the people of Bradford. He married March 7, 1835, Eliza A., daughter of John and Mary Chamberlain, of Sussex Co., N.”
