The picture
A shore lined with tall, thin trees and small cottages behind them; in the foreground several long wooden rowboats and canoes are pulled up at the water's edge. People stand and crouch in and beside the boats: a man in a straw hat stands in a boat at left center, two seated figures at far left, a man crouched with a fishing pole or net, and four men standing on the grassy bank at right, one in a white shirt. A white wooden boat or float lies on the far water, and an overturned boat sits at far right.

The readings
| Part | Status | Readers |
|---|---|---|
| caption | all agree | claude, gemini, gpt |

Uncertain readings:
- front, top border: Compliments of BELOIT REAL ESTATE BOARD — only the lower half of the letters shows; the line is cut at the top
- back, top center: 18262 (or 18252) — small, faintly printed numerals
Reader's note: Unused. A promotional Kropp card printed for the Beloit Real Estate Board, number 1 of a series ('—1' in the caption). The cottages among the trees suggest a riverside cottage colony, but the card does not name the place beyond 'Rock River, Beloit'.
