The picture side

The picture

A street corner seen from above: a streetcar with a monitor roof and open-sided rear section turns on curving tracks in the foreground. Ornate two- and three-story commercial blocks with arched windows and a small tower line the left side; at right a plain three-story corner building with a striped awning carries a large sign reading EMERSON'S DRUG STORE, with a horse and wagon in front. Telephone poles with crossarms rise at center; pedestrians on both sidewalks and crossing the street.

  • Printed caption: […] BELOIT, WIS.
  • Printing: colored halftone · color
  • Lettering in the picture: EMERSON'S / DRUG STORE
  • Condition: heavy wear: the caption at upper left is faded and darkened so that only 'BELOIT, WIS.' can be read; surface loss (white patches) on the cornice and wall of the building at right; a dark stain across the upper left corner; rounded, worn corners; a crease at lower right
