A treaty of peace was made at Prairie du Chien with the Sioux, Chippewas, Sacs and Foxes, Winnebagoes, Ottawas and Pottawattamies, settling boundaries between the tribes; one passage gives only the year 1825. Several chiefs, including Quash-quamae and Mock-to-back-sa-gum, signed the Prairie du Chien treaty, and the peace concluded a war of nearly two hundred years' duration between the Sioux and Chippewas.
