The kitchen was still another building attached to this on its eastern end, in time detached, moved to a lotjust east of the Methodist church, used, it is said, even there for meeting purposes, and in process of time torn down. In this kitchen the first Methodist sermon in the place was preached, Nov. 11 , 1838 , the first school taught by John Buroughs, and this, the first, church organized. But why in the kitchen?
