When oompanies B, G, H, I, and M arrived at Fort Blunt, they were attached to the third brigade, Army of the Frontier, and on the 16th of July, 1863, marched southwards under command of General Blunt. The next day, they were engaged in the battle of Honjy Springs, in which the rebels were utterly routed, with the loss of many prisoners and all their artillery.
