An Annual Anniversary Meeting has been held, which has usually been addressed by a speaker from abroad . In 1884 this meeting took the form of a supper, at which letters from Dr. Bushnell and from absent members were read. At this meeting , (November 5, 1884, ) the constitution was changed to conform to the existing practice of the society , a recommendation being substituted for the pledge, and the associate membership opened to " all young persons attending the meetings." In December, 1888, the constitution has again been changed, the model constitution of the united societies being in substance adopted, and the pledge taken, on trial, for three months . An important feature of this new constitution is a provision for bringing the society more closely into co-operation with the church .
